The one thing to know

Stay west of the reef gap at the east end. Water funnels out through that channel, more so on a falling tide and a north swell.

Questions visitors ask

Is it safe to swim at ʻAnini Beach today?
ʻAnini's reef lagoon is usually the calmest north-shore swim in summer. In winter the north shore gets large surf. Check today's live conditions above, stay west of the reef gap, and confirm in the app before entering.
Is there a lifeguard at ʻAnini?
Seasonally. Don't count on it, treat ʻAnini as an unguarded beach outside peak season and check conditions yourself.
Where is the dangerous part of ʻAnini?
The reef gap at the east end. Snorkel along the inside of the reef and stay clear of the channel where water exits, especially on a falling tide.
