Ocean SafeKauaʻi Visitor Guide

About Ocean Safe

Ocean Safe is a free, independent guide for visitors to Kauaʻi. It pairs live ocean conditions with honest, beach-by-beach safety, plus verified local picks for food, drinks, tours and more. No login, no display ads, no review chaos: useful first, monetized lightly second.

What it does

Where the data comes from

Conditions are pulled from Open-Meteo (surf, swell, wind, UV, rain) and NOAA Tides & Currents (tides), with the National Weather Service as the authority for official advisories. We score the conditions; we don't certify any beach as safe. See exactly how we score beaches.

How it stays current

Beach conditions are fetched live every time you open a page, so the read reflects right now, not a cached snapshot. Our local picks are independently verified for current operation and re-checked regularly; closed or unconfirmed places are deliberately left out.

Who's behind it

Ocean Safe is an independent project built on Kauaʻi. It exists as a public-good safety tool first. If you spot something out of date or wrong, we want to know so we can fix it.

Picks last verified: 2026-06-13. Conditions: live on every visit.
